Once purchased and paid, how long does it take before my new domain name is active?
The time it takes for your new domain to be active can vary.
After registering our DNS servers with your domain registrar (assuming the domain was bought elsewhere), it could take as long as 48 hours for the DNS records to propagate and have your site be fully accessible across the Internet. However, we have taken steps to maintain low propagation time by optimizing the TTL (Time-to-Live) rate, so that the domain can be quickly (within a few hours) accessible across the Internet. However, please understand that though we have done our part to ensure this process is completed quickly, the time it takes may still vary due to circumstances beyond our control; factors by which pure domain registrars may be able to explain in more detail. If a domain is purchased through us, our registrar inputs our NameServers immediately. Therefore, for domain and hosting plans purchased at once through TrunkSpace Hosting, the turn-around time is usually less than 2 hours after payment is confirmed.
Your account will typically be setup within minutes of the receipt and confirmation of payment. This is done to ensure that once the DNS has fully propagated across the Internet, you can access your site immediately.
