How do I enable Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) on my Windows-based KVM VPS?

This article will show you how to enable the Microsoft Remote Desktop connection on your new Windows VPS.

First login to the SolusVM control panel at https://vpspanel.gavs.us:5656/home.php

After logging in, choose the VPS you want to work with:





Once you have done that, click on the "VNC" button:




Use something like TightVNC to connect. Once connected via VNC, you will need to set your Administrator password for Windows:



You may need to activate Windows:





Simply click "Activate now". You will then be brought to the following screen. Click "Activate Windows online now":





Once complete, you will see:



If your server needs to be licensed beyond 180 days, you will need to purchase a Windows license.



Once logged into your Windows VPS via VNC, go to "Server Manager" and then to "Configure Remote Desktop".

Once here, click: "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop", then click "OK" at the bottom:


Once done, you can login to your Windows VPS via Microsoft Remote Desktop. The login will be Administrator, and the Password the one you set in a prior step.
